General

Q: When should I start making preparations?
A: Depends on what you need, but "procrastination is the thief of time".
For example, the application for an internship should reach us 6 weeks before your planned internship start at the latest. One has to estimate about 3 weeks for the search of a matching internship position.
If you only want to do a Spanish course please send in the application form 2 weeks before course begin at the latest.

Q: Where can I get help in case of problems?
A: In case of questions or problems during your stay,
our team in Argentina will be happy to help you.

Q: Can I use my electrical devices in Argentina?
A: Electrical household appliances, radios or razors can be used without any problems in Argentina. Voltage is 220 V. However, there are often different sockets, so you should take respective adaptors. But more and more Euro-sockets are being used.

Q: Can I withdraw money in Argentina?
A: You can withdraw money without any problem in Argentina. You will find ATM machines all over the country. The average transaction fee from a German account is between 0 and 5 EUR. It is best if you inform yourself about the exact fees at your bank. It is almost impossible to open an Argentinean bank account for a limited amount of time.

Q: Will I get a certificate at the end of internship?
A: Absolutely, after successfully finishing your internship you will get a certificate of the respective company. Please ask your supervisor towards the end of your internship about a certificate. Contact us as well concerning this matter.

Q: What kind of Spanish skills are required?
A: You should already have good Spanish language skills (Intermediate level) so that both, you and the company enjoy your internship.

Q: How much in advance do I have to send my application to Argentinized?
A: Generally we need between four and eight weeks for the organization of an internship. Sometimes internships can be organized in less time. Please send us your application papers about 6 to 24 weeks before you want to start your internship.

Q: What is the minimum time for an internship in Argentina?
A: In order to have sufficient time to adjust to the language and to familiarize yourself with your tasks, you should allow at least 1 month for your internship in Argentina. The optimum time for an internship would be between 3 and 6 months.

Volunteering Programs

Q: Is there a minimum time for a voluntary work program in Argentina?
A: No, generally there is no minimum time required. In order to have sufficient time to adjust to the language and to familiarize yourself with your tasks though, you should allow at least 1 month for your voluntary work program in Argentina. The optimum time frame would be between 3 and 6 months.

Q: How much in advance do I have to send my application to Argentinized?
A: We do not have application terms. Generally we need between 3 and 6 weeks for the organization of a voluntary work program. Sometimes these programs can be organized in less time. Please send us your application papers about 6 to 24 weeks before you want to start your program so that we can organize your stay according to your requirements.

Q: What kind of Spanish skills are required?
A: You should already have good Spanish language skills (Intermediate level). An essential part of voluntary work is communication and you should be able to understand children, handicapped persons or the elderly after a short familiarization period.

Q: Why do I have to pay to volunteer?
A: Argentinized is a private agency and is financed by the intermediation fees of our clients. We do not receive financial support of the state or other organization or institution. With the income of the fees we pay costs like rent of our office, administration costs, salaries of our team, maintenance of our website etc.
Argentinized helps as well! On a regular basis we arrange money and clothing donations to support social institutions.

Spanish Courses

Q: Can I take the D.E.L.E exam in Argentina?
A: Yes. And we also offer special preparation courses. Please contact us directly for further information.

Q: Do the launguage schools offer spare time activities to get to know other students?
A: Of course, all our partner schools provide different spare time activities and trips for their students. Furthermore, Argentinized also organizes get-togethers in different bars and restaurants in Buenos Aires so you can get to know fellow participants.

Q: Will I get a certificate at the endo of course?
A: Yes, after successfully finishing your language course you will get a certificate from the language school.

Q: Do I have to pay a placement fee for Spanish courses in Argentina?
A: No, we charge exactly the same prices like the particular language schools and you do not have any disadvantage booking your Spanish course via Argentinized. On the contrary, you benefit as well from our individual service and support.

Accommodation

Q: What kinds of accommodation are offered by Argentinized ?
A: You can choose between Homestay , Residence, Hostel, Private or Shared apartment, Hotel and Farm Stay. Of course, we will do our best to find a place that suits you!

Q: Are the accommodations close to my classes/placement?
A: We place you as close as possible to where you are taking classes or working. All of our accommodation (without Farm-stay) placements are within short walking distance to public transportation to take you to your placement or anywhere else in the city.

Q: Where will I be able to do my laundry during my stay?.
A: If there is no washing machine in your accommodation, your host family or housemates will show you the launderettes which are located nearby

Q: What can I do if I do not feel comfortable in my accommodation?
A: Even though all offered accommodations are carefully chosen, in exceptional cases it might happen that you do not feel completely comfortable there. In this case please do not hesitate to inform us or your local contact person. We will do everything we can to organize a new accommodation for you as soon as possible.
